I've been wearing barefoot/zero-drop shoes for over a decade and found every boot option I tried when starting a new EMS career insanely uncomfortable. Luckily I found these boots and am sold for life. It's been over eighteen months of wearing these for 48 work hours a week and I'm just now buying a second pair due to some separation of soles on the sides. Tread is still in amazing condition, stitching completely intact. They do scuff a little more quickly than I hoped but I'm not exactly careful with them-- they are work shoes, after all. I've never had a blister or sore spot; there was no break-in period at all and were as comfortable straight out of the box as they are on my feet today. If they ever stop making this boot style I don't know what I'll do!

Let me start by saying the positive things about this boot, because as a whole, I do like them and so would others. It is very comfortable and very wide. They are really true to a minimalist boot. If you are rucking, or running/training on dirt/ground these boots would be very ideal. These boots are exceptionally lightweight and flexible without sacrificing protection and tread.
Now for the cons; I have had these boots currently 10 months and I have had to glue the outter sole of the boot over a dozen times in different spots within a few months. Now the heel on the left foot is completely coming off and exposing a massive hole to my foot. When these boots started falling apart, was not from very hard use, but from sitting in an office and with minimal wear. At my current job Im walking anywhere from 15k-20k steps, and it really takes a toll on the boots. Not only the boots, but the bones in my feet as well. To explain, if you know your walking that much on concrete, blacktop, or laminate. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THESE. You can find supporting data as to why that is an issue and why barefoot shoes have a role to play in certain circumstances.
Moving on, the tread/outter sole is made from vibram and I love that company. Ive had my share of experience with them from redwing boots to having the 590 hot weather ega boots in the Marines. Both were AMAZING boots. Neither broke down and the tread lasted over years. The tread on the mini mil? Getting more worn than your favorite t-shirt in high school. What Im getting at is that these belleville boots, shocked and surprised me, and not in a happy way.
In some ways I can recommend these, because maybe I have a bad pair where the adhesive wasn't up to par. I wont be trashing them when I get a different pair of belleville boots , because they will have thier use. Just not for my everyday use.
Hope that helps

I really like these boots. I have worn barefoot shoes with toe spacers as a day to day thing for a year and was dreading putting them in duty boots. I've been wearing them for a few months now and they are SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable to wear over a 12-24 hour shift compared to the gently used Haix boots I was gifted by a friend. I'd like to see a few changes: I need an extra wide option. My feet still bulge out on either side of the sole even with wide spacing. A water resistant fabric in the upper Center zip closure instead of laces I would pay good money and break in a new pair for these upgrades!
